Recently, a new feature has been rolled out by WhatsApp that enables users to organize specific groups and individual conversations as favorites for quicker access. This functionality can be found in the chat filters bar, alongside other tabs such as unread, groups, and all. The company has now announced the launch of a Custom Lists feature, which allows users to create and modify personalized lists of contacts for more efficient and streamlined interaction. These lists can comprise both groups and individual chats, mirroring the favorites functionality.

In a recent announcement, WhatsApp revealed that this custom list feature is being introduced globally. It is set to become available for all users within the next few weeks. This functionality will assist users in organizing their contacts into distinct categories, such as family, work, neighborhood, and others. Both group chats and individual conversations can be included in these lists.

To establish a list, WhatsApp users need to click the "+" icon situated on the filter tab. They can assign a name to the list and add any number of groups or contacts they wish. These custom lists will be displayed alongside the All, Unread, and Groups filters in the application.

This update is anticipated to aid users in managing their chats and discussions on the messaging platform more effectively. Users will have the flexibility to modify these lists at any point. To change an existing list, users simply need to long-press the name tab on the filter bar.

In addition to this, reports indicate that WhatsApp is exploring a stickers capability. As per insights from a feature tracker, the application is experimenting with the option for users to create a new custom sticker pack with features like Add to sticker pack, Add to Favorites, and Edit sticker. Furthermore, there are indications that the Meta-owned messaging platform is assessing Snapchat-like camera effects, including filters, backgrounds, and additional features that can be toggled on or off through the app's Privacy settings.
