The recently released game has stirred discussions among players. While many continue to navigate virtual waters as a legendary pirate, others are voicing concerns over the additional purchases offered alongside the main experience. Some gamers have even expressed their frustration online, citing these extra costs as a significant detractor from an otherwise nostalgic journey.
Despite the overall sentiment being somewhat more positive compared to the earlier heavily critical feedback, there remains discontent regarding an extra charge of £76.21 required for supplementary downloadable content. Although many add-ons only alter the game’s appearance, a few provide enhancements that can modify gameplay. Given that the game is designed for solo play, the benefits of some extras are minimal if not purchased, making the additional expense a considerable burden on an updated version of a game that debuted 13 years ago.
A special edition is available that reduces some of the extra purchases. However, it only includes exclusive character and naval content, leaving several other optional add-ons still available for separate purchase.
It is noteworthy that a remake of a game from 2013 now faces criticism reminiscent of concerns raised by many titles during the 2010s. Before the era of progressive in-game rewards and tumultuous launches, players often raised their voices over similar issues, and these concerns have reemerged in current discussions.
