Exciting developments are on the horizon for movie enthusiasts, as a new project from Sony Pictures vows to enchant viewers through a combination of drama and romance. The film stars three rapidly rising figures in Hollywood—Daisy Edgar-Jones, Will Poulter, and Jacob Elordi. Titled On Swift Horses, the film intricately weaves a narrative around a romantic entanglement set against the setting of equestrian life racing.
Placed in the period following the Korean War, the story follows Muriel, played by Edgar-Jones, and her spouse Lee, portrayed by Poulter. Their lives take an unforeseen twist with the emergence of Lee's brother, Julius, represented by Elordi. A passionate relationship develops, only for Julius to depart in search of a former romantic interest. This leaves Muriel emotionally adrift, turning to horse racing as a way to fill the void in her life.
The official synopsis outlines the journey of Muriel and her husband Lee, who are excited about their new beginning in California after his return from the conflict. However, their sense of security is disrupted by the entrance of Lee's enchanting brother, Julius, who comes with his hidden complexities as a gambler. The situation escalates into a precarious love triangle. As Julius ventures off in pursuit of a young card shark he's enamored with, Muriel's yearning for a deeper connection drives her toward a clandestine existence, delving into horse racing while exploring a previously unimagined romantic possibility.
Directed by Bryce Kass, the film is slated to debut in cinemas this April. A preview has been unveiled, offering audiences a sneak peek into the compelling world of On Swift Horses.
